A week back from the arctic training and I’m re-packing for the Himalayas.

This week has been a great chance to catch up with two organisations that are supporting my expeditions. Sporting Equals www.sportingequals.org.uk of course did an Ipadio link with me in the arctic and when I met up with the team this week we talked about how my role as an ambassador would work best within the charity.

Their aim is to encourage black and ethnic minority croups to get involved in physical activity and sport. Maybe spending time with me in zero temperatures might not be a way forward but over the next few years through my expedition’s I hope to inspire people to maybe take a step back and look at their lives in a different way. Personally I think it’s exciting and I’m so proud to be involved.

I also managed to catch up with Gareth from IGGY – International Gateway for Gifted Youth www2.warwick.ac.uk/study/iggy/. Set up by Warwick University and aimed at children between the ages of 11 to 17 from over 34 countries around the world. Next week, from the Himalayan mountains I will link up with Gareth on a live Ipadio call that will be instantly updated on my website, twitter and face book covering IGGY’s involvement in both the Global schools project and the North South solo expedition.

Two other highlights this week were a catch up with Russell my fitness consultant for the NSS expedition who reminder me of my pain thresh hold and Dr Harbinder, my psychologist for the expedition who confirmed that even though it’s a solo expedition due to my state of mind I won’t be totally alone!

That’s just crazy talk I thought and I instantly agreed!
