A fantastic introduction to climbing in the Himalayas. Take an Everest Base Camp trek to the next level by tackling a 6000m+ peak as part of a fully-guided expedition. No previous experience is necessary, we’ll teach you everything you’ll need to know.
During this 23-day trip, you’ll combine the classic Everest Base Camp trek and ascent of Kala Patthar, with a summit of Imja Tse (Island Peak) at a height of 6189m. The peak itself lies to the south of Everest, an Island set in a sea of ice from the Imja and Lhotse glaciers.
As you start the early-morning ascent from Island Peak high-camp, the surrounding peaks of Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Nuptse and Ama Dablam – all beautifully lit by the rising sun – provide one of the most spectacular sights imaginable. A perfect start to an epic day in the Himalayas.
If you’ve ever dreamed of exploring the Arctic, this expedition serves as an fantastic introduction to travel and survival in the incredible wilderness of Spitsbergen, part of the stunning Svalbard Archipelago.
As with all Snowball trips – we do more than just book your trip with available guides. You’ll join a team that has notched up many successful expeditions, from treks to the North Pole to crossings of the Canadian and Norwegian Arctic.
Taking in all the areas that have inspired us to visit the polar regions time and time again you will guide your own dog team – search for polar bears whilst on a snowmobiles safari – trek in to naturally formed ice caves and spend time under the arctic night on a mini expedition with experienced polar explorers.
Guided by local Nepalese and experienced UK guides this is an incredible trek through some of the most awe inspiring scenery in the world. The Himalayan mountains will be your home as you walk along the historic route to Mount Everest Base Camp.
From the busy city of Kathmandu your journey begins as you fly above the clouds and in to the mountains. Landing in Lukla airport at two thousand seven hundred metres high you join the trail that snakes along through the valleys passing through areas such as Namache bazaar the city in the clouds – and Tengboche the holy temple that overlooks Mount Everest.
You will also have the opportunity to see how we support the schools on route as you can spend time with the teachers and children in the projects we have set up. This trek has been designed to suit all types of adventurous people with different strengths and goals.
Staying in lodges along the way and mixing with the local people this is a cultural experience and a journey of a life time.
